Delicate, yet strong paws tread silently through the underbrush without disturbing a single blade of grass. Her form was merely a shadow one might glimpse out of the corner of their eye, but fail to see when directly looked upon. She held her purple and lime head high as she moved swiftly and carefully through the forest. Her paws ached from travelling, but she was determined. She had wandered for many days, searching for the perfect place to start anew. She knew not how she came to these lands, as most of the journey was a blur, but here she was. She could feel it in the depths of her soul... this was where her journey would end.
Upon entering a clearing in the dense forest, she slowed her steps and finally came to a halt. She looked carefully around, listening for any signs of life. She heard birds in the trees, snakes and other small woodland creatures scurrying under the leaves... and the faint sound of a running stream. She smiled to herself, thinking This land is flush with life and sustinance. I could create and build a strong pack here. It was decided. She raised her slender maw to the sky and let loose a howl that echoed all across the lands.
Once she finished her claim, she perked her ears to listen for the sounds of an answering howl. She slowly moved further in to the forest, marking along the way to deter any others who may wish to challenge her. She came upon a thicket, overgrown and full of brambles and thorns. She circled it, finding a small entry way that she swiftly and easily moved through. The thorns brushed against her fur, but did not harm her. Inside the thicket was a wide open space, one that would make a good den area. She could hear the running of a stream just outside, and plenty of prey scurrying through the trees and the underbrush. This place had everything she needed. The thorns around the outside would keep out unwanted visitors and protect her pack.
She moved back outside the thicket and waited, wondering if she were the only one that was in the forest, or if there were others lurking nearby.
